Good art satisfies on several levels.

In my body, I feel it – viscerally.

Then, over time, as I live with these objects, day to day, new ideas open up.

My aim is to make and live with visual poetry.

Now that I think about it, coyotes have always played a part in our lives, from an early age - lost cats, other worldly yelping in the night, a shadow caught in the corner of your eye, they’ve always been there. ...

One of the great things about packing the studio for our move, is finding all those forgotten treasures... like this mummified baby opossum head in a jar - cool. #NeverKnowWhenThatWillComeInHandy ...

An especially nice petroglyph 15 minutes from here🐐 As a grade-school kid, wandering around this desert, I remember making drawings like this, on rocks - (smaller rocks, that you could pick up) - we’d leave them out there for someone to find🗿...I’ve always wondered where they ended up. #FlashbackFriday ...

We watch fiction movies together on Saturday night, non-fiction on Wednesday nights. Last Wednesday’s was “Never Surrender: A Galaxy Quest Documentary” - (good if you’re a fan - like us!)🚀🛸Sometimes Non-fiction night is harder to believe than fiction night! 😲🤭🤫Did you know Van Gogh didn’t shoot himself - (perhaps)? Or that there’s no known evidence “the Russians hacked the DNC” -(and strong evidence that they didn’t)? Did you know PTSD often responds well to psychedelics? My neighbor who had a recording studio in his bedroom, invited me to sit in as the band “Spoken” recorded their album.
With reckless spontaneity, they reinvented lyrics right on the spot, as they recorded - wild! I like the way they used my triptych for the CD cover - you choose your favorite of the three images to feature, while the others fold behind - very cool. #Backintheday @spokenofficial @chrislizotte

My dad and uncles joined forces in the late 60’s to take on McDonald’s and Jack-in-the-Box with an extra amazing fast-food restaurant chain, The 🏆“Golden Grill”🍔 Beginning on Pacific Coast Highway, across from the Huntington Beach Pier, I remember it well - (it was way different then, more surfers than tourists)🏄swimsuits, sandy feet and a thick malt - Pure California!#ThirstyThursday

A lot of memories packed into this detail from the painting “Swan Song” - tree forts as a kid, climbing trees with my own kids... but especially - hiking alone in the woods, senses heightened... lost... and found. #WayBackWednesday #AWalkInTheWoods ...

Sometimes when we open the big roll-up doors to bring in the warm morning sun, birds fly into our home - so I climb ladders to catch them. Though very afraid, they calm right down once in hand. This one had a fierce look but was so tiny and frail under all those feathers - an almost lighter than air, flying machine. #FeatherFriday ...

This drawing is a time capsule for me - drawn by my sister, Varda - one Christmas, late 1960’s. I was maybe 11 years old. That straight line up the center of the drawing, was an opening between the two accordion doors of my bedroom. Since it was right off the living room, I’d drift off to sleep to the sounds of what ever my parents were watching on TV each night. The themes to “Perry Mason” and “Raw Hide” were lullabies to me.
I know each piece of furniture drawn there - (I’m sitting in that easy chair right now, as I type)!
We owned one garland of colorful glass beads - it’s there in the picture and I hung it once again, on a Christmas tree just one hour ago. Behind the curtain to the left, you’d discover my tree fort outside, with a boy’s treasures of found animal skulls and WWII surplus. Friends would spend the night there with me, camping out and listening to rock stations on a white transistor radio, with gold trim, while incense smoldered... back when the Beatles were cutting-edge and the songs could transport you to other planes. I guess without these repeated holidays, life would just speed by - no mile markers or rest stops to think back on - one hazy blur. #ThanksVarda

Sure, Life=Change, but the changes seem to get more and more surprising as we go. We’re looking at property for our next home and I never expected to find that real fireplaces would be outlawed! Fake fireplaces - LEDs, projections, natural gas... what’s even more surprising is how after a bit, you don’t hear the little fan, throwing out the electric heat... Even battery powered candles have become “romantic” to me. #NeverWouldHaveGuessed #ModernRomance #ModernMonday ...
