Good art satisfies on several levels.

In my body, I feel it – viscerally.

Then, over time, as I live with these objects, day to day, new ideas open up.

My aim is to make and live with visual poetry.

Sure, Life=Change, but the changes seem to get more and more surprising as we go. We’re looking at property for our next home and I never expected to find that real fireplaces would be outlawed! Fake fireplaces - LEDs, projections, natural gas... what’s even more surprising is how after a bit, you don’t hear the little fan, throwing out the electric heat... Even battery powered candles have become “romantic” to me. #NeverWouldHaveGuessed #ModernRomance #ModernMonday ...

The best time of year has just begun at our house - perfect temperature, open doors. And it’s a good thing, we’ll spend the next two months here, packing and preparing our studio/home to sell... but first, a swim in the Lake! 💥(Anyone need a private 9600 sq foot art studio, just over an hour from Las Vegas?)💥 #BlackMountainGetaway#livinglarge #Gigantic#artistloft ...

I heard a good story this morning:
With my 90 year old mom in ICU, recovering from her operation, she tells me: "When I was pregnant the doctor told me that the x-ray had showed the baby was in danger and needed to be a taken early. He explained that though he had delivered many babies, he had never done a c-section before, but not to worry, he would be assisted by other doctors.
Once in the operating room, laying on the table, she could overhear her doctor talking to the assisting doctor: "Have you done this before?" "No, not me, how 'bout you?", "No, I thought you had!" So they asked the nurse - "me neither." The anesthesiologist was late, when he arrived, they asked him, he just shook his head "no", then said: "Well, how hard could it be, it's just like any other operation." So they went ahead with it!" (That baby was me!)

A couple weeks ago, we were in Utah, visiting my kids. Hank's an artist and as I walked around his studio, I thought: "Damn, this guy's kickin' my ass - this is amazing work!" Stacks of paintings lined every room, above that hung a whole body of works in progress. 👏👏👏 #artstudio @shadyhank ...

This morning Barb and I were in my studio looking for something interesting to draw. Walking around, I suggested: ax heads, skulls, hammers, a knife, a dried up alligator head, an old grenade from WWII and finally, this cat sculpture... (she went to her studio to find something else). Vive la difference! #MeowMonday ...
