My approach to the world was formed in my dad’s workshop.
In that pre-computer world, you could work on your own car, invent an airplane, or make a submarine - (I actually have the plans for one from “Popular Mechanics”)!
We made go-carts, catapults, spearguns...
The world felt so amazing and full of potential to me there.
I’m sure inventing for the information age is just as engaging for those with the know-how, but for me, nothing beats the physicality, the smell and sounds of a real workshop.
